“The light and the glory for children reveals to youngsters ages 9-12 how God’s loving, guiding, and protecting hand has been upon our country from the very beginning.” (From the publisher)
I used this for multilevel teaching of early American history with my four boys. Stories that paint word pictures are excellent for helping children immerse themselves into the history, rather than just simply learning dates and lifeless facts.
Keep in mind, when you see an age suggestion, you can easily adapt that to almost all ages. For instance, when I used this, my youngest was just in kindergarten but when we had family read aloud time for history, all of the boys would find a cozy spot in the living room with me, either on the couch or doodling on a notepad or playing quietly with Legos, as I read aloud.
