They say, “Comparison is the Thief of Joy?”.
I think it also takes away from who God made us to be.
How Comparison Can Affect You
Today I’ll be feverishly working to finish pulling my homeschool binder together for my review tonight?.
But yesterday afternoon, I sat in a meeting with several other veteran homeschool moms who are FAR more organized and detail oriented than me?.
I thoroughly loved their company #socialbutterfly ?.
And then I got home … looked at my eclectic and nontraditional way of teaching my sons and felt completely #lessthan ??♀️.
As I talked it out with my boys … I shared my struggle.
That while I’m big on enthusiasm for life, curiosity, breaking down difficult concepts into easier to grasp lessons mixed with a generous hunger to explore and learn???♀️??☀️
I’m not computer savvy nor am I gifted at keeping track of details.
But then my boys encouraged me that:
- we are all created UNIQUELY ?
- we all have a giftings to share?
- we’re not supposed to look like everyone else… that would be boring?!
So today, maybe there’s someone else out there too, that needs this reminder to stop comparing ourselves to others and joyfully live in the remarkably distinct ways that God has created us?❤️?!
