One Thing You Can’t Get Back

Spoken at a conference; these words nestled permanently in my heart…

You can take my dress, I can buy another one.

You can take my car, I can get another one.

You can take my house, I can find another one.

But when you take my time, you have taken something from me that is totally irreplaceable.

When my boys were little, I couldn’t imagine the time would fly off the calendar ? like it did. When you have 4 boys, age 6 and under… you can’t imagine the day when you won’t change diapers ?? or wipe little noses. But my heart was knit so tightly to theirs?!

When I would leave the house at 2:30 in the morning to start my nursing shift at the hospital… As I would pull my van away from our home… My heart would sink?. I hated trading my time away from home for money.

Since they were little, it’s been my belief that one of the greatest legacies you can leave here on planet Earth is your children❣️. I know I can never get back yesterday. It’s gone. But I do have today!

Capture these fleeting moments with them…because time is the most valuable commodity we have and one of the greatest investments we will ever have to offer them?.
